QD Store in Saffron Walden Announces its First Anniversary Competition Prize Winner
The lucky winner of QD Stores' first anniversary competition in Saffron Walden recently visited the store to collect her prize of shopping vouchers from Store Manager, Damian Amies. Ms Rosemary Down, pictured below with Damian, won the store's "sugar sales" competition by estimating that 4,500 bags of sugar had been sold by QD's Saffron Walden store in the twelve months since opening. The actual figure was just 102 bags more. Store Manager, Damian Amies, was delighted to present Ms Down with her prize and commented: "It's thanks to the support of people like Ms Down that Saffron Walden QD is celebrating a very successful first year. We are looking forward to our second year in the town and will be continuing to give a warm welcome to regular and new customers alike." Rosemary, who is a regular shopper at QD, was delighted to hear the news that she had won the competition and commented: "This is a lovely surprise. I will probably look at buying some bedding plants and other gardening things, as well as wild bird feed. There is always so much choice at QD." The Saffron Walden store opened its doors for the first time on 28th May 2010 and saw the QD retail group, which also owns the Cherry Lane chain of garden centres, Lathams of Potter Heigham and the Buyright Superstore in Hadleigh, Suffolk, continuing to go from strength to strength. QD Stores recently launched a new website giving more customers on-line access to 250 of its best-selling products. It has been rated Best New Website by Web User Magazine. www.qdstores.co.uk
