QD’s Wrexham Store Opens Tuesday, 25th May

QD's eagerly awaited new store in Wrexham opens its doors at 9 am on Tuesday, 25th May. The official opening ceremony is to be carried out by Councillor Jim Kelly. Crowds are expected to gather in force to watch the ceremony, determined to be amongst the first customers through the doors to snap up the special deals in-store.

Following several weeks of refurbishment of the former Marks and Spencer premises, the new QD store will take full advantage of its prime high street location providing shoppers with a wide range of goods offering unbeatable value, including quality household and clothing brands.

QD's Marketing Operations Manager, Alan Hatcher, confirmed that QD's Wrexham team is counting down the days until grand opening day on the 25th May, and that everyone is extremely proud of their spacious and welcoming new store. "There's always a great deal of excitement as opening day approaches. It's the culmination of a lot of hard work and meticulous preparation. The entire team is now geared up and ready to go. By attracting more shoppers into Wrexham this store will have a very positive effect on town centre trade."

A finalist in the recent Oracle® Retail Week Awards 2010, for "Emerging Retailer of the Year", the QD Stores Group's continued and rapid expansion is largely due to its highly successful retail formula which offers exceptional value for money, an impressive choice of quality brands and goods, and the highest standards of customer service. May is a busy month for the retailer which is opening its new Saffron Walden store on 28th May just days after Wrexham's store opening on the 25th.

QD's stores are well-known for an emphasis on giving customers exceptional value across all departments - homeware, fashion for all the family, DIY essentials and even kitchen cupboard staples such as coffee, tea and sugar. The Wrexham store's location brings the added convenience of making more choice and variety available locally. It will cut the number of longer shopping trips for customers from the surrounding area by dispensing with the need to travel into Chester for many items.

QD's stores offer a vast selection of quality goods at low prices. In-store, shoppers in Wrexham can look forward to great value clothing and accessories for all the family, household essentials and soft furnishings, along with everyday basics such as groceries and stationery.

The Wrexham store has created a total of 28 full-time and part-time jobs. The Group as a whole currently employs over 1,000 staff throughout its nationwide chain of high street shops, Cherry Lane garden centres, Buyright superstore in Suffolk, and specialist fishing and shopping outlet, Lathams, on the Norfolk Broads. The company plans to increase the number of its high street stores to 50 by the end of 2010.
